How We Review Our Content
Schizoaffective Reference is written primarily from lived experience — Jay Fincher's own diagnosis and the first-person accounts shared throughout this site.

Lived experience is a real form of expertise, but it isn't a substitute for clinical training, so we're working to pair it with review by a licensed mental health professional.
Our process
- Every clinical page (Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment, Medications) is drafted using primary sources: the DSM-5, NIMH, peer-reviewed journals, and clinical references cited at the bottom of each page.
- We're in the process of establishing ongoing review of each clinical page by a licensed clinician, with pages updated to reflect that review once it's in place.
- Pages built primarily from lived experience — Experiences, the Caregiver Guide, Alternative Approaches — are clearly framed as personal or complementary, not clinical guidance.
- We date every page and note when it was last reviewed. If you notice something that seems outdated or inaccurate, email jaycfincher07@gmail.com — corrections are taken seriously and reviewed promptly.
This site is independent, free, and unaffiliated with any pharmaceutical company or healthcare institution. Our only goal is to get the information right and make it feel human.
